About the Retreat.
Leaders in STEM, presented by Fiftysix Creations in Bundaberg, is a 72 hour retreat designed for Australian high school students aged 13 to 17. Set against the backdrop of the Great Barrier Reef's starting point, this retreat focuses on nurturing leadership and STEM skills in young Australians.
This unique Retreat is led by young leaders for young leaders, ensuring an environment that is both relatable and inspiring. Participants will engage in a dynamic array of activities including interactive workshops, enlightening presentations, exploratory site visits and ample opportunities to forge connections with a network of similarly motivated peers.
We are thrilled to offer 8 scholarship tickets specifically for current ASE participants or alumni, making our 2024 retreat more accessible. These tickets have been made possible thanks to support from the Australian Government!
The Details.
Date and Time: 16 to 18 December 2024 from 8:00am to 4:00pm
Location: Bundaberg - Southern Great Barrier Reef
Check-In and Check-Out Location: The ASE Group Brisbane City Launchpad - Level 4, 26 Wharf Street, Brisbane City
Cost: $2,500 per participant. Note: 8 scholarship tickets are available to support participation from current ASE members or alumni.
The Agenda.
Day 1: Meet & Greet with Local STEM Leader, Drive from Brisbane to Bundaberg, Introduction & Official Welcome to Bundaberg, Vision Boards and Networking 101.
Day 2: STEM Group Workshop, Pitch Competition, Site Visit, Local Council Meet & Greet and Team Cooking Competition.
Day 3: Bundaberg Distillery STEM Tour, Drive from Bundaberg to Brisbane.
